CIVIL CEREMONIES WEXFORD
The Ashdown Park Hotel is registered and licensed for Civil Ceremonies in Wexford
Things to know before you start (courtesy of OneFabDay):
Venues for civil ceremonies must be pre-approved and licensed. They must be fixed structures and meet various legal criteria, to we can adhere. In practice, this means you cannot get married in Ireland on a beach, cliff, in the woods or almost anywhere outside.
Only registrars (civil servants) can legally marry people at non-religious ceremonies in Ireland. As of 2013, you can have a secular ceremony organised by The Humanist Association.
Allowplenty of time to register with your registry office. A minimum of three months is required but there is usually a longer lead time (in Dublin, it can be about 7 months). Plan ahead, or you may end up getting married on a Monday at 9.30am!
You can only get married by a registrar in Ireland from Monday to Friday (no weekend ceremonies unfortunately). If you wish to be married in a venue outside of the registry office, only particular days and times will be available. These are set by the local office and vary from county to county.
Function room hire and set-up for €150 to include the following:
Chair covers & bows
